Life with Toby

This is my neighbors brother, he plays with the kids and they absolutely adore him.  He has boundless energy and I tried my best to capture it on film.  Here he is on the trampoline.

New Arrivals

Today is the day, my 2 new lenses should be here some time, probably around 5pm.  I can't wait to try them out.  This is the first time I have had a really nice zoom lens.  I can finally really zoom in close, my brother should be happy.

beach time

As I was watching my children play I was reminded at how small we are and how big our God is.  Whenever I go to the ocean I am always reminded of this, the water just seems to go forever.  We try to control our lives, we think we can, but when we look at ourselves compared to the obstacles we might face I hope we realize that we can only get through with the help of our Savior.

Trapeze Walkers

My kids and the neighbor kids new favorite thing to do is sit on the deck rail.  I think their goal in life is to find something and then find the most dangerous action they can perform on it.  Usually they are walking on the deck rail, I must have caught them resting between dangerous stunts.

Books; Design, Gift, Reading

This is a book cover that I designed for an Elder in my Church.  I think it came out very nice.  This job was a huge answer to prayer and God confirming his power in my life.

This book was a gift from my sister for my bday.  Thanks Nat and Matt!  I am looking forward to reading it.  My little girl, and hopefully my little girl on the way, already have their daddy wrapped around their finger.

This is a book my lovely bride gave to me as a gift.  It was recommended by a blog that I read and the title was enough to get me excited!  I just started it and so far I love it.  If anyone wants to read it after I am done I can lend it out.

Around the house #10

This is a candle holder that my beautiful bride put on the back deck.  I love the how the light is inverted and it shows the backyard upside down.

2 for 1

Well I ordered my new lens, in fact I ordered 2.  My old lens was a 18-55 f/3.5-5.6G and I replaced that one with a 18-55 f/3.5-5.6 but it has vibration reduction, which should allow me to shoot better in low light settings.  It says you get 3-4 more f stops on your lens, we will see.  I am most excited about the other lesn, it is a 55-200 f/4-5.6.  I have wanted a better zoom lens for sometime, now I will finally have one. It should be here in a week or so!

Blossom

We went to North Georgia for Thanksgiving and went to this really cool Christmas tree farm.  They had hay rides and a petting zoo, the family really loved it.  This was a tree I found while we were on the hay ride.  The colors were so rich and vibrant.

Broke Back Mount

No this is not a movie, I am heart broken over breaking my baby.  I grabbed the camera to go and take a picture when it suddenly pulled back toward the computer and then fell to the earth, as my heart stopped.  When it hit the ground the lens popped off, I didn't think that was normal.  I looked over the lens and realized that I had broke the back mount (the part that goes into the body and holds the lens in place)! The lens still will lock into the body but it is loose and can be just pulled out with very little force, and it actually fell out twice and hit some tile floor.  I am sure it has been damaged at this point.  Well luckily I had sold some stuff and I asked for money for my bday to buy a new lens, so hopefully it will all work out.  I will update the blog when I get my new lens.  Anyway let this be a reminder to be very careful with your baby.

Amazing Grace

We went to the Agee's house for a birthday celebration bash and I noticed that they had an old hymnal on their piano.  I was flipping through and this page was marked.  I love this old hymn, the words are very powerful.  Anyway that is the story.

Around the house #5

Well I decided to take pictures of different everyday items around the house and see how they would come out.  Just a different perspective of things that I see everyday.  I am not sure how many photo's I can get out of this, we will see how long it goes. After this I want to do a series on different things around the fire station.

Nellie's Cafe

After Charlie's tee ball game we decided to go to a local restaurant in downtown longwood to celebrate 3 birthdays, Andrea's, Chad's and mine.
